Learning, skills and progression at work
The NIACE Adult Participation in Learning Survey is an annual survey series which started in 1996. It provides a unique overview of the level of participation in learning by adults, with a detailed breakdown of who participates and who does not.
The 2015 survey, conducted in partnership with the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) included an additional module of questions designed to provide insight into and understanding of individuals’ workplace skills development, opportunities for skills development and progression in work.
This paper presents the findings of our analysis of responses from a sub-sample of respondents who said that they were learning for work-related reasons, or had done so during the previous three years.
