As well as being the UK National Coordinator for the European Agenda for Adult Learning, we are one of 11 European organisations working to improve outreach, empowerment and diversity in adult education across Europe. The Implementing Outreach, Empowerment, Diversity project (implOED) aims to create a more inclusive and fair society, increase active citizenship and make education policies more effective for the needs of the disadvantaged groups. The project will run from 2016 to 2018 and implement the OED Grundtvig network (2011–2014) outputs at policy and provider levels, as well as transfering them to different sectors (vocational, basic skills, etc.). These outputs include guidelines for trainers and staff in adult education as well as policy recommendations for policy-makers. The implOED project will reach its target groups through workshops, seminars and conferences and provide concrete suggestions to other potential users through an instruction manual. Our role on the project is to support the implementation of the OED guidelines at provider level. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission.
