POSTPONED – Together for a Healthier Working Wales Conference
To mark the two-year anniversary of the Employability Plan being published, L&W Cymru is working with the Welsh Government to bring the sector together to review the progress that has been made and to look ahead to new and emerging challenges and priorities. The Minister for the Economy and Transport, Ken Skates AM, will deliver the keynote presentation and we will also be hearing from Stephen Bevan, Head of HR Research Development, Institute for Employment Studies. There will presentations and table discussions during the day around three specific areas:
- into work support
- keeping people in work; and
- healthy workplaces;
The purpose of the event is to engage a wide range of stakeholders in a discussion to inform a Health and Employability Delivery Plan. Importantly it will be part of an ongoing process of engagement as policy is shaped to meet the challenges of the future. The event is open to anyone with an interest in employability and health policy, including those working in operational delivery in all parts of Wales.
A key focus of this important engagement event will look at how health and employability services can be better aligned and will specifically consider how best to help create healthier workplaces, how to support people with physical and mental health challenges to help them to remain active in the labour market for longer, and how employers and governments can break down barriers to people with health conditions accessing work.
