Consulting with stakeholders on our merger

Since announcing our plans to merge with NIACE in July, we have been busy working with, and listening to, our staff, members, partners, funders and other stakeholders who are as passionate about lifelong learning and work as we are.

To help us shape our thinking about the new organisation, we invited 10,000 of our combined contacts to take part in a short survey. We then invited 300 key stakeholders to take part in further consultation over the Summer, which involved:

40 in depth online survey responses and phone interviews
60 phone conversations with Senior Management
A series of webinars with David Hughes
A stakeholder workshop in Wales
NIACE and Inclusion staff workshops
In line with the views of many, our new organisation will promote a prosperous and fair society in which learning and work provide opportunities for everyone to realise their potential and ambitions throughout life.

Our suggested name, Learning and Work Institute, will be voted upon by members at our Annual General Meeting on 4 November. Members will also discuss and agree our joint mission, vision and values as a new organisation.
