DWP sets out future commissioning strategy
3 August 2014The DWP has set out its commissioning strategy, outlining how it will work with providers and partners to deliver welfare to work services.
The strategy largely reiterates that of 2008, with some additional references to using more innovative commissioning models for specialist provision.
DWP will continue to commission provision through national, top-down prime contracting, with local partnerships predominantly used to test models to support those furthest from work
The strategy commits to further support smaller providers
There is promise of more transparency of information on performance expectations, performance levels and referral volumes
The strategy, however, doesn’t mention service quality, quality management or quality monitoring
